LocateMe Service® by Road America is a genuine WOW moment in the evolution of emergency roadside assistance.  For stranded drivers, already stressed by their circumstances, trying to accurately describe the location they’ve found themselves in to a dispatcher on the telephone can be a real ordeal.  This element of the process – figuring out exactly where the disabled car is located – has always been time consuming, stress inducing and an opportunity for mistakes for all parties. Until now.

In a breakthrough partnership with researchers at AT&T, we’ve developed a GPS technology solution for pinpointing breakdown locations in seconds.  This unique development dramatically improves the speed, accuracy and efficiency of locating the customer’s disabled car through the very same telecommunications device they are using to contact our Response Center.  Road America can capture the location automatically for all customers when calling through any AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint wireless or landline communications device.  It may sound simple, but it was a groundbreaking innovation.  Previously, some vehicles were equipped with a telematics device (like Onstar), but this was not available in all vehicles and didn’t operate uniformly across all vehicle platforms. Otherwise the process relied on “I don’t remember which exit I just passed, but there are mountains to my left.”

With this revolutionary enhancement, Road America is able to pinpoint the customer’s precise coordinates to ensure that our service providers on scene arrive at the vehicle’s exact location –even if the customer doesn’t know where they are.  We are able to respond to emergency assistance calls with much greater reliability and speed – which means ensuring the customer’s safety and increasing their satisfaction with the service.
